Can I File A Protective Order Over Online Harassment?
Location: Jefferson County, Missouri
The first few paragraphs will be for some context.
I am a 24 year old male, and the harasser is 23. I was friends with him when we went to school together, but afterwards I tried to keep my distance when we spoke online. I’ve been iffy about spending time with him because he has put his hands on me before. Later I would find out he was arrested for beating his grandma. Since then he has moved. I only know what city he lives in.
Earlier this year I chose to cut off contact completely from this person. I chose to convert to Christianity and he took offense to that. After I blocked him because he was being crude, he messaged my family members saying I was going through religious psychosis. Fast forward to a couple hours from now and I get a text from an unknown number. A stranger messaged me something that only the harasser would understand. Basically he has an Instagram account that is making fun of an old classmate. Some person messaged that account and he gave them my phone number.
Anyway, I seriously want this dude out of my life. He doesn’t drive or work, so I wouldn’t have to worry about him harassing me in person. Whenever he has put his hands on someone it is because he was angered and has no impulse control. So it’s not like he would sit and think about hurting me. Since he has nothing to do outside of playing fortnite, he will come up with these stupid schemes. Is there anything I can do about this now or at all? Should I try and build a case against him as he does his crap in the future?
