Car Mechanic Giving My Car The Run Around After Part Breaks 20 Minutes Leaving The Shop.
I Location: ILLINOIS bought a loaded knuckle off eBay motors and was told by this mechanic he can repair it for $155 after already paying $155 20 minutes of driving my wheel completely gives out the knuckle breaks I’m stranded on the road.
I leave the car where it is they say they will get a tow truck, when I get a call on Monday I’m beyond pissed my car got a ticket and they are trying to bill me for the tow. On top of that they now want to put on their own part and labor for another $650 I say okay do it. I get a call TODAY now I need a $370 axle shaft. I’m getting constantly told that this guys getting pressured by upper management about my car and it’s a huge problem because I brought in a aftermarket part and he shouldn’t be doing this he already gave me $100 off.
So after coming in for an aftermarket part it’s turned into an over $1000 job they want to charge me a tow fee and I have a ticket. I don’t want the guy to lose his job but this is ridiculous and I don’t know where to go. The part itself that he says cost $370 is $135 on auto zone and this is where he told me they buy the parts
