Caught Parking Company Ticketing Me Before Session Expired. Am I Able To Take Any Sort Of Action On This?
location: tennessee.
context: had a two-hour parking session last night in a private parking company's paid garage. got a text reminding me that the session expires at 8:06pm. walked in at 8:04pm, saw attendant in front of my car, with a stack of tickets. made eye contact, immediately told him that's my car, asked why he was ticketing before 8:06pm.
he laughed & kept repeating, "it's too late! it's too late!" i said no, i'm here & leaving before the session expired - absolutely not too late. he grabbed the ticket off the car, told me it's already in their system, and tried giving me the customer support number to call and argue my case, "if i have the proof." i shot it down, said i'm not about to spend an hour on the phone with customer service when i was ticketed without cause. he kept blowing the whole thing off. a couple other people in the garage saw it happening. one of them came over to back me up. the attendant started to walk away to his car, said he was calling the police on me, etc. i grabbed a couple pictures of him & his car/license plate. eventually both left.
i know a million people have issues with parking companies every day, but if a company is straight up caught in the middle of ticketing someone without cause... can anything be done about that?
i have text receipts confirming my 8:06pm cutoff, and a screenshot of their own website stating that i was ticketed at 8:05pm, with pictures of my car/license plate at that exact time.
