Caught Stealing From Walmart
yesterday, I was scanning my groceries a little fast because I was already in a rush, my Lyft was waiting outside for me. When I got to the door, the Walmart security stopped me and asked me to go into a room. Long story short, the total items I stole came up to $28. I immediately offered to pay from the start of because I genuinely wasn’t paying attention and was in a rush. They had said that the amount was over the prosecution limit for Walmart so they had to call the cops. immediately I start getting upset and crying because I offered to pay and understood that I made a mistake. The police came,the cop was somewhat understanding being that all I stole was food and produce items but unfortunately gave me a court date.
The one thing that bothers me is this being on my record, I’m in school to be a vascular sonographer, my alternator just went out in my car, I have to get $2k to pay my school to register for classes and now this. What can I do to keep my perfect track record or at least get this expunged or possibly take a class in exchange for it not being on my record? I’m a straight A-B student, I’m 23 years old, have my own apartment and a lot of bills to pay on my own, have decent credit. I made a mistake is all.
