Connecticut Solar Contract Help

Location: Connecticut

Sorry for the formatting. I'm on mobile.

Hi, everybody. I seem to be having a bit of an issue. And I'm hoping somebody here can at least point me in the right direction.

At the end of November 2023, my wife and I purchased a house with solar pre-installed with her sister and her husband.

In the days leading up to closing, while we were finalizing everything and part of it was signing over the solar contract. The only contract the solar company would provide was in Spanish. NONE OF US SPEAK SPANISH and while Google Translate might be fine for a phrase, you can't trust it to properly translate a full legal document because by the third page it had given me multiple translations of the same pages..The company outright refused to provide an English contract that we would be able to read and understand and their response to us requesting a contract, we can read and understand was, "we can't do that." that was their response even after my wife called the company multiple times and told them that our house was already sold and we needed this for the closing or we would be homeless and also being contacted by the realtors, stressing that this contract was needed for closing

Due to our house having already been sold and it being just days from closing on this house. My wife was forced to sign the contract that none of us could read or understand under duress. as without that contract, being signed, the sale would have fallen through. And my wife and I her sister, her sister's husband and her son would have been homeless in New England in the winter which would have caused excessive economic, physical, and mental hardship

the bill has gone up multiple times in a year as of now we've been unable to access the account for the system for several months including system performance, payments, billing/change billing method and the company has not been helpful the account number they gave us doesn't work in their system and it also doesn't recognize our address as a valid address yet the autopay goes through

It's been suggested to us that this may place them in breach of service contract

I believe that due to the initial circumstances of the contract signing would void the contract for the following reasons

by refusing to provide a contract that we could read it creates Uncertainty or Ambiguity as the contract fails to clearly outline the actions expected from both parties

by refusing to provide a contract we could read the company created a Lack of Legal Capacity as we were unable to comprehend the terms of the agreement and in turn while trying to deal with them caused my wife severe panic attacks at the possibility of us being homeless

the company intentionally concealed the terms by refusing to provide a contract that we could read

the company knew we couldn't read the contract and what the consequences of not signing the contract would be the company still refused to provide a contract we could read, knowing that if we didn't sign the one they provided, we would be homeless. which I feel falls under duress or undue influence due to economic hardship

I know I'm gonna have to contact a lawyer. But I was hoping for some advice on things to look out for or what I should try to get together before I talk to a lawyer.

Any help or advice that could be provided would be very much appreciated. Please and Thank You
