Cousin Got Muriatic Acid Threw In His Face This Morning.

So to make the long story as short as I can my cousin is 54 I just got him a job getting back on the right path he was staying in his friends house let’s say (Robert) and Robert had a roommate let’s say his name is (Scott) well Scott was not happy that my cousin was staying in the garage for right now,well I went to pick him up from work this morning and Scott had already previously messed with his stuff,so when I got there I hear them going back and fourth where he started calling my cousin a bum and everything else which pissed my cousin off and he continues to say I’m there to take him to work well Scott proceeds to throw acid in his face which has his whole eye swelled shut can’t see anything and has to go to the eye dr tomorrow.Well we’re pressing charges on him and the police told us it’s just a misdemeanor right now guy got back out of jail tonight and has court tomorrow.

So I guess my question is what to expect to happen to him,how can we get the most on him as possible and how would he go about maybe suing or some kind of financial settlement if he ends up permanently blind in the one eye ?

Edit:He has been to hospital !sorry for the failure to confirm that guys,Police reports filed that’s why I was wondering how we can get this bastard in as much trouble as possible being as of right now.
