Coworker’s Daughter Keeps Getting Harassed By Angry Ex.

We are in Georgia, but also need legal advice for South Carolina.

I am posting this on behalf of a Gen X Coworker that doesn’t know what to do anymore. Her Daughter just turned 18 this year, and has been continuously harassed for the last few months by an angry ex. He has:

- created ai pornography of her and distributed it among her new friends at collage, as well as high school.
- texts her non stop, switching numbers whenever he gets blocked.
-Creates posts non-stop about how they should be together and how he will only love her, etc. He will delete any and all comments asking him to stop.
- Thrown her to the ground and physically stopped her from leaving his house.
- contacts her roommates and people she hangs out with, despite repeated blocking and asking him to stop.

The girl is scared of him, but thought that he would stop when she went off to college three months ago (in South Carolina). She doesn’t want to go to police, despite still getting messages and contact attempts every week.

My coworker (40-ish female) has tried to tell him to stop, but has gotten nothing but angry rants and pleads that they’re meant to be. She’s at her whits end as to what to do, since her daughter is a legal adult, and won’t go to the police herself. Is there anything a parent can do? File a restraining order? Have some sort of paper trail in case things escalate? It’s infuriating to have someone unable to help themselves, which is why I am asking here. Is there anything we can do to help, legally, keep him away- or force some kind of penalty if he doesn’t stop? Or are we just SOL?

Edit: Can my coworker go to the campus police and ask for any help? Or does it have to be the girl herself?
