Daycare Attempting To Raise Tuition Mid-way Through School Year And Asking Us To Sign New Tuition Agreements

Card image cap

I am a staff member at a University. The University operates a daycare on campus which my daughter attends and tuition for daycare is directly deducted from my paycheck. At the beginning of each daycare school year we sign a tuition agreement, which outlines the cost of tuition for the school year (Sept.-Aug.). We also sign a payroll deduction agreement which states how much will be deducted from our biweekly paycheck. Neither of these documents that contains any language about the possibility of tuition being increased midway through the contract. The University is now hitting us with a major tuition increase for daycare slated to start in February and asking us to sign new agreements. I’m wondering if they are legally bound to honor the original tuition agreement through the end of the contract, which would be through August? location: NH

UPDATE: I reached out to the University General Counsel. I will update further when I hear back...
