Do I Have Grounds To Sue Or Just File A Board Complaint?

Location: Arizona

Back in February I had to have a tooth pulled and a bone graft was performed for a future implant. A CBCT was performed prior to extraction.

Fast forward to 4 months later, at the implant appointment, the abutment ended up getting sucked in my sinus.

Before the procedure, a 2d x-ray was performed. The dentist said he was going to *try* to get the biggest possible implant there but he wasn't sure until he got in there.

During the procedure my dentist told me to raise my hand at any point if I start to feel pain. There were three different occasions where I raised my hand feeling pain mid cheek during drilling. I was ignored for the first two hand raises. After the third hand raise, all he said was, " yeah, there's going to be some pressure," and continued. I believe he drilled too deep and perforated my sinus.

He then checked the torque of my bone graft after drilling and said it was suspiciously low. He said he really thinks that it's my vegetarian diet that's causing low bone mass. He proceeded to place the abutment even after this discovery. It got sucked into my sinus about two minutes later and he said, " your bone just turned to mush." He then grilled me about my vegetarian diet saying that I don't have enough amino acids to build bone. (Side note- have been bodybuilding for 5 years, I get probably too much protein, and it's all complete. I am also in my early 30s, don't smoke or drink. Blood results are perfect according to my dr). He only knows I'm a vegetarian because I made the mistake of telling him at my Feb appt after he said I looked like I take great care of myself. He also told me that I need to never in my lifetime use HRT because it *will* cause the implant to fail.

I had to have a Caldwell-luc procedure with an oral surgeon about a week afterwards to remove the abutment from my sinus. I also received another bone graft and a sinus lift from the oral surgeon who is going to be completing my implant care from here. The oral surgeon put me on a longer timeline to make sure my bone is more solid, 6 months, because the spot typically takes longer according to him. I asked the oral surgeon if my vegetarian diet would be an issue and he said it should be no problem whatsoever. The oral surgeon also stated that they do a CBCT prior to see how the bone graft has matured.

My question: is this grounds to sue or should I just do a board complaint? Or both? This original dentist paid for my caldwell-luc procedure because he felt so bad that this happened (even though he blamed me.)
