Does The City Need To Repaint The Curb Or Was The Towing Justified

Hi, this is a new account because i downloaded this in order to hopefully find some people who can share any resources, rather than me having to look through city regulations.

I live in location: Seattle, earlier today my car got towed by the city. They cited “parking next to a yellow curb”. I however, was extremely confused by this. When I was parking I saw no “yellow curb”. I knew there was a bus stop on the street so I made sure to park 40-45 feet away from the stop, because i didn’t wanna make it difficult for any busses.

I took photos of where i was— I got there maybe 4 minutes after my car was towed, so the car in front of me provided a good estimate of where I was— and the curb had some fading white paint, and no yellow in fact the curb itself had only a tiny little bit of yellow. any of the small bit of very hard to see faded yellow was in front of me.

For some more context. While I was parking i looked for no parking signs, there were none. In fact there were no street signs except for the bus stop sign 40-50 feet up. While I was there, some busses came and traveled in front of my car with no problems.

I am confused. I don’t feel like I am in the wrong and I also feel that the city of Seattle needs to provided better indication, in order to prevent any issues for bus drivers. The curbs painting was barely there.

It happed on 872–898 E Pine St near Seattle central. I was parked just behind the first tree that’s surrounded by brick, going towards the bus stop. apple maps photos don’t give an accurate indication of just how faded the yellow is.

I would like to know if there are any city regulations or cases that people could point me too regarding how well a curb needs to be painted.
