Employer Took Wages.
Location: Denver, Colorado
I was a manager for a fast food place. A few months ago they had me get a key to the store which came with a key contract stating that i am responsible for the key and $500 will be taken if the key is lost or not returned. We had hired a new general manager where i was instructed to give my key to her. I was never given a new key and have been using the lockbox key. About a week ago i quit about 7 hours before my shift because that place was going to shit. The new manager texts me “if you don’t return the key it’s a $500 charge”. I respond with “i literally gave you the key weeks ago and was never given a new one”. She responds with “there’s several keys and i was thinking that you were given another one” and that was that. I now have received my paycheck where the $500 was taken out. I texted 2 of the managers from there now about it and they have yet to respond to me almost 24 hours later
