Ex-fiancé Is Preventing Me From Bringing Help To Move Out My Belongings, Including Furniture.

Location: Ohio

Left my ex-fiancé back in October and have not gotten my belongings back yet. I had to move to Florida because this is where my mom is, and I ended up becoming her full time caregiver due to stage 4 cancer. This happened unexpectedly. So, I haven't been able to return to Ohio to get my things until now.

I said something that made him angry, so he gave me an official notice via text message that I had until April 4th to pick up my things or they would be trashed. Fine. I've made the necessary arrangements and will be there on the 4th to get my things.

These arrangements include help, as I not only have many heavy boxes to move, but furniture as we were together for 18 years...so 18 years of my life is in this apartment. It's not a couple of boxes. I bought a 15 foot UHaul to load up and put into a storage unit.

He sent me a text message today that he is not allowing anyone but me on the property to collect my things. I also have a medical condition, degenerative disc disease, that makes it hard to lift on my own. I will certainly hurt myself worse than I already am.

Do I have any sort of legal right to assistance in this case, or am I screwed because of him?

Yes, I will be requesting a cop to come with me. This is one of the reasons why he is choosing to retaliate against me.

EDIT: I am not on the lease. I'm not even 100% sure that he's on the lease. His aunt is.
