Tennessee: Detective Never Filed Report And No Notes In File

Location: Tennessee

In 2019 I was sexually assaulted and drugged. The detective came to where I was after going to the hospital and getting an exam, stitched, photos, etc. 2 men came interviewed me. They weren't too concerned about me being drugged, but more concerned about the drugs this guy had.

I got an advocate and the detective finally said he interviewed the guy after a month. Then silence. For years despite followup.

2 yrs later the DAs office said there never was a report filed.

I went by there last week and a detective told me there is also no notes on the case. none.

the detective that interviewed me, is no longer there. I believe the perp went to hs with him and the rapist's dad was a constable for the same county.

I meet with the detective tomorrow.

Do I need an attorney? Can I have charges pressed against this officer for not doing his job? Can I take the entire department to court and sue the piss out of them?

I am so angry about this.
