Ex Keeps Trespassing After Break Up, Car Got Keyed What Can I Do?

Card image cap

Two weeks ago, I broke up with my ex. On the day of the breakup she took some of her things and left with her cousin.

The next day, she came back unannounced with the same cousin and a friend I told them to step outside but they ignored me. I was trying to separate my things from hers in the apartment when she got upset and hit me. I restrained her to protect myself and she called her cousin and friend for backup?luckily I wasn’t hurt.

After that incident, my brother and I went to her family’s house. I retrieved the key she had for my apartment and the police got involved. They told me that she must not show up at my apartment under any circumstances.

A week later, I work nightshift so anticipated that I wouldn’t be home luckily I was. She came back around 8 PM with her cousin and her dad they were banging on the door and trying to use a key. I kept the door locked and noticed someone ducking and running toward the parking lot where my car is.

The next day, I found that my car had been keyed. Thankfully, my neighbor has a security camera covering the parking lot and I plan to get the footage.

Questions:

How far can I legally take this situation? Can I pursue stronger action beyond police warnings?

Does having footage of her damaging my car strengthen my case?

Has anyone dealt with catching someone on camera keying their car? How did it go with the police or legal system?
