Ex-wife Passing During Divorce Process, And She Had A Lot Of Debt. Am I Still Responsible For Paying That?

My wife left me for another man in the beginning of the year. And by left, I mean "moved across the country and abandoned me" left. We had planned on proceeding with a dissolution to make things easier on us both, each of us keeping our separate debts and possessions. I have been getting the paperwork together via a legal service, but filing hadn't happened. She had a chronic illness that racked up a very significant amount of medical debt.

She is currently in the ICU from that illness. She hasn't passed yet, but it seems that is going to happen sooner than later. I know that it's a bit grim and selfish to think this way, but I'm terrified that I'm going to be stuck holding this mountain of medical debt. She clearly left me, we were going through the process, and that amount of debt will essentially force me into bankruptcy. Am I going to be ruined because of this, just because we were still legally married?

TLDR: Wife that left me is dying, and we're still legally married. Will I have her medical debt forced upon me?
