Fell In Man Hole
I am walking down the sidewalk minding my own business and I stepped on a man hole cover that was not put on correctly. It flipped and down I went. Luckily I only stepped on it with one foot so I only fell down to my butt, one leg in the hole the other not. This happened in the community I live in about 2 blocks from my house. The cover was removed by the owners of the community, (we own the house they own the property). I had to finish the walk home, get my car and drive to the hospital for a tetanus shot, it was 5pm. It was over $1,000. I know at least 1 of the people who work here saw me fall, as I was leaving they had already replaced the cover and had a worker standing near it. Also one of the neighbors saw me fall, they stopped to ask if I was okay. What is the likely hood of winning a lawsuit to cover the shot? If they refuse to pay? I plan to contact their corporate office and the office here tomorrow.
