Fired Due To Anonymous Email

I made a mistake and got fired from my last job 6 months ago. I finally found a job and it was a dream job. Then after a week I was called into HR and told the GM received an anonymous email that said I was a liar I had old unpaid debts (in in accounting) and called my character into question. They decided that these allegations along with the drama of ask if this only a week in that it was in their best interest to just cut ties. So now I’m back without a job, I’m killing myself working overnight part time and selling plasma just to pay my child support. The funny thing is I am 90 percent sure this came from my ex wife. It could have been someone from my old job but they wouldn’t have known about past debts… I don’t know what to do, I with in an at will state so I have no claim against employer and since they won’t provide me with the email I have no proof. 6 fucking months I’ve been looking and now I have to completely start over. I’m just lost, is there anything I can do to ensure this doesn’t happen if I ever find another job? Or am I just forever screwed because of who I had in my life. My did said it was the most hateful and vengeful message he had ever seen… and yes I share 2 daughters with her who are in middle school so keeping a secret of where I work is nearly impossible. Help Texas
