I Hit A Mailbox And The Mailbox Owner Isn’t Contacting Me. What Can I Do Now?
Location: Indiana
I was driving home when I passed a car and had to drive close to the line as my road home is very small. When taking the turn my mirror ended up hitting my neighbors mailbox. I live a few houses down so I pulled into my drive way so that I could turn around. Once I turned around and pulled into their driveway I walked up to the door. Ringing the ring doorbell. I waited for someone to answer but no one came to the door. I was left with a “we aren’t home leave a message” I waited for the blue ring to talk and proceeded to tell them what happened. I explained that the mailbox isn’t damaged it’s tilting but aside from that there’s nothing wrong with it additionally there’s no damage to my car. I didn’t leave my name on the message but I did leave my number and told them to contact me if they noticed any damage or needed it replaced. It’s now been two days since that happened and I haven’t heard anything from them. I have noticed their other car is home alluding to them being home. I’m worried that it’s possible that they may not have received the message. From research it said that the ring cameras must have a subscription to even view the messages left behind. By that thought though I’m assuming if they set the ability for a message then they would’ve had the subscription. Now I’m worried they didn’t see or hear the message or maybe I was talking so quietly they didn’t get my details. What do I do here? Do I have to worry about legal trouble? What are my next steps?
