Fired Two Days After Reporting Stolen Sales Commission And Managers Violent Outburst

Card image cap

Location: Georgia

I worked in a niche sales environment. In my department, we had 4 sales people including myself, and a sales manager.

One of my coworkers intercepted my sale. I reached out to the manager who confirmed that it was my customer as all sales leads have a 30 day protection and I had documentation proving it was mine.

Coworker completed the sale anyway. Manager completely flipped out on me when I told him it needed to be addressed. He aggressively lunged at me, slammed his fist into a chair, yelled and cursed. This is not the first time he has acted like this. He has thrown items in his office so hard that they dented the wall. He cannot handle any conversations that he deems difficult and loses all control.

The next day, I reported it verbally to our HR person, who honestly has no HR training or experience, she is a receptionist.

I reported the theft of my sale and my managers reaction.

Two days later, I overheard the receptionist telling another office worker that I was being terminated. I pretended not to hear and prepared my things, cleared my computer of personal files, etc.

They fired me and let the receptionist sit in on the meeting. The business owner conducted the meeting. I once again brought up my managers inappropriate outburst and his prior outbursts as well. He was so mad that he got up, left the meeting, and drove away.

They refused a reason for the termination, just said that after 2 years, it's not a good fit. I am a top salesperson without a history of write ups, PIPs, etc.

Anything I can do here? I am assuming not but wanted to check.
