Fl. Roommate Changed Locks

Location: Florida. I need help with my situation but will sum up the past 6 months.

Roommate has been living there for years & resigned lease Dec 2025.

I signed an amendment to add resident in March 2026.

June 2026 I decided I couldn’t live there anymore because it’s extremely uncomfortable and she would take my rent money and trigger 3 day notices. ( I didn’t have access to the payment portal until July) I also start packing suitcases of my stuff so I can sleep and stay at my boyfriends because I cannot stand being there with the way she speaks to me.

I also found out she had been evicted with this same company and knowing this prior I would not have agreed to sign the lease.

I told her I wanted to leave she told me she will NOT agree to sign me off of the lease.

July 2026 she finally agrees to letting me find a roommate to take over my spot but she is EXTREMELY picky and will not help me find someone.

August 2026 i moved out all of my stuff except a coffee table and one of those cube storage things because I was going to put it on Facebook marketplace to sell.

A week ago I was going to meet some lady from marketplace to sell my coffee table and I get to the door and she changed the door code on me so obviously I could not sell it. I took a video of me putting in the code on the 5th time of trying the correct code.
It still wouldn’t open.

I texted her prior to me going over there and my next text was “did you change the door code?” She got back to me 7 hours later asking me if I got the table… obviously I didn’t

I emailed the landlord about this and got no response. This whole time I barely get responses on anything only 3 day notices and them telling me they can’t do anything and only that she needs to sign for me to get off the lease.

I need help on what I can do because I am on the lease, am still receiving mail at that address, and am still paying her to avoid eviction.

I did my research on illegal lockouts and it sounds like this is what’s happening and am almost at the point of saying fuck it and not paying October because now I have 0 access to the property.

I have never had a roommate before and i will never have one again. Also it is an 18 month lease so it doesn’t end until June 2027. If someone can provide me with guidance on my situation that would be great beacuse it is so stressful ????
