Found My Contractor’s Employee’s Racist And Sexist Twitter And Want Out Of Our Contract
Location: New Mexico
I am a small business owner that employs a small advertising firm through a contract. The advertising firm has occasionally posted pictures of their employees at our small business on our social media to advertise and market.
One of these advertising firm employees has started to make some of my direct employees uncomfortable and one of my direct employees sent me the link to his Twitter account. It was full of anti-immigrant rhetoric (specifically against Mexicans), misogynistic hate (tweeting directly to women politicians calling them dumb whores and dumb bitches), and tweets disparaging his former employer after he was fired from there (I was unaware of this). As a woman I am appalled and do not want him associated with my business but I do not know if this is enough for me to breach contract with the firm he works with. I should mention that his wife is the owner of the firm that I contract with and she is his employer, which complicates things. What should I do?
