Got Served, Am Confused?

Card image cap

Location: WY

So, last Friday morning, I was served some papers at work, regarding a small medical debt. When I asked the gal who served me (she was very nice, she went over it with me as best she could) what it was for, she told me "Honestly, this is kinda weird, usually they put more information here, but all I can say is it was from this hospital for this amount." and she instructed me to contact the attorney listed, who is representing the collections agency, and they would give me more information.

So the problem is, I don't really know what this is for. I did have a lot of medical stuff going on around the time listed, and I'm not really worried about paying it, it's not that much, I just never got a bill for this amount. So I sent an email to them like I was told, and explained just that, and asked for an itemized bill so I could be sure of what I'm paying for and make sure insurance was billed correctly.

It is now Monday afternoon and I haven't heard anything. I'm not sure how long I should expect them to take, maybe I'm just being impatient? I figure I should've at least gotten some automated/canned "we've received your email" response by now.

Honestly I'm just kinda confused about the whole thing, and the delivery lady admitting the paperwork is pretty bare bones doesn't help me feel any more confident lol. I just want to make sure I'm going about this correctly and would appreciate any tips to advocate for myself and make sure I'm not getting screwed by some billing department mess up.
