Had A Customer Crash A Car During A Test Drive

Location: Idaho

I work in at a car dealership and a customer crashed a car while we were on a demo drive.

I couldn’t see the speedometer but we were getting back onto the freeway and he overcorrected heavily when the back kicked out a little bit (550HP car)

We slid off the freeway, caught maybe 10 feet of air and had a high speed impact off the road fully tilted into a tree.

My GM is handling the internal stuff with our insurance higher ups and I’ve been to get myself checked out with Workers Comp. Nothing super major but I have a pretty significant contusion on my right leg, lap belt bruises, and as I write this (5 hours later) I’m not sure if I’m finally fully coming off the adrenaline but my neck feels buzzy and when I sneezed by ribs hurt (not a bunch but didn’t feel great) my leg was Xrayed and they said there was no bone damage, they didn’t do any further scans at the time I was there.

I was told at intake I wasn’t diagnosed officially with whiplash (as he said the onset could take hours) but to call immediately and get it documented ASAP if I have further issues or increased levels of pain.

What are my personal next steps? I was told to go home for today by the doctor(and we are closed Sundays) but unless I have issues I’m clear to be back to work Monday. Is this something I let the company handle 100%? Do I get in touch with a personal injury attorney if I have further documented complications?

I’ve been in the business about 9 years and this is the first time it’s ever happened.

Any help is appreciated. Attached (when I figure it out) is a pic of the car, if anyone does know what store I work at or know exactly where it happened I would prefer to keep that private if I can. Thank you in advance!

EDIT 2: I do have a copy of his full insurance card with policy number etc. police took reports from myself, the customer, and his son.

The cars drive recorder was not enabled (used trade in) as it was factory reset when we got it in from the customer (drive recorder turns off after a reset) 2025 M4 Comp Xdrive 6200 miles
