Help Me Do This Legally Correct
Location: Sangamon County Illinois
Long story made short: Son’s mother called a month ago, her current boyfriend is giving her life hell. Turns out he is on coke, lost his custody of his kids, and has had other legal issues. At this point in the phone call she is telling me they are broken up and she won’t go back because she doesn’t do drugs. I believe she doesn’t do drugs. Last night my son admits to me that mom’s boyfriend is coming around again but did not stay the night. Mom said to son “I’m happy to be seeing him again”
I speculate that rehab didn’t happen and getting sober this quickly is a miracle. However in court I can’t speculate. They don’t live together either, how do I go about this legally to ensure that if he is coming around again and not sober, I can protect my son? I feel as if mom is blinded by love and not thinking clearly, there is a part of me that truly thinks she is in a tough spot and not being nefarious herself other than this person she is choosing to surround herself with.
