Hit-and-run And Knowing Who Did It
I’m going to make this as short as possible, please bear with me. My car was hit back in December by a snow plow. Police were called and mentioned that the plow company alerted them of the accident. A police report was taken. Insurance later notified me that it was a total loss.
It was struck within a private community where the HOA contracted the plow company that comes onto the street and plows the residents’ driveways. The police are aware of the landscaping company at fault and have attempted to contact them for the past few weeks. They have been unsuccessful to contact them, and have left 4 voicemails.
Will any further action that will be taken? It seems like the police are deprioritizing my case and are not going to go knocking on any doors. We know which landscaper caused the damage but they seem to be dodging the fault. It feels like someone just got away with a hit-and-run causing $20,000+ in damages to deem my car a total loss.
Thank you in advance for any comments.
