How Do I Go About Changing My Daughter's Last Name Who Was Born In Georgia But No Longer Lives There?

Card image cap

I gave birth to my daughter in Savannah GA. When our daughter was a week old the hospital called us saying that they had assumed my boyfriend and I were married but since we're not he has to go in and fill out some paper work and show his ID in order to be on her birth certificate. When we got there the lady wanted my ID (that they had already seen when I was at the hospital) and my ID was expired (She wouldn't except my birth Certificate or S.S. card) so she wouldn't take my BFs ID (which was valid) which caused our daughter to have my last name and her dad isn't on her birthcertificate. The lady at the hospital told me it would be easy to change once I got a valid ID which I couldn't get in Georgia since we were only there for my BFs job and everything was in his name so I couldn't show any required paperwork to get my ID. My daughter is now 7 and is the only one out of my 3 kids that doesn't have her dad's last name. I was told by the vital records office in GA that in order to change it, I have to physically go into the office IN GA. We don't live anywhere near GA and haven't since my daughter was a few weeks old. I feel like there has got to be an easier way to get her dad on her certificate and change her last name without traveling all the way to GA. Does anyone happen to know that easier way?
