Husband Got A Dui, Was Never Charged, And Now Cops Are Saying He Has A Suspended License

I am on mobile, I apologize for any formatting errors.

In June 2026, my husband was arrested for his first ever DUI for .10 BAC in Location: Broadmoor, CA. He was given a court date and a temporary license. At this point he was accepting of his error, ready to go to court and pay and take classes.

At the time, he was told to go to court in July, which he showed up to, only to find out that no charges were filed, and his name was not on the docket. We were told to wait for charges to be filed, and that he was okay with the temporary license he received from the police from the arrest. However, he renewed his registration, and still has not received tags for his car.

He got a ticket for expired registration sometime in August, and September 19th was pulled over for the expired tags. To reiterate, his registration is current, the DMV just never sent the tags. While he was pulled over on September 19th, the cop gave him a ticket for driving with a suspended license.

He went today (10/6) to the police station to get fingerprinted (which ended up not happening because it "closed" 5 minutes before he arrived) and while he was there, the receptionist was confused and so was the officer, who saw his temporary license. The lady officer said the courts filed for the suspended license. My husband left, called the court, and they have said nothing is filed against him- neither the DUI or driving with a suspended license. He has no upcoming court dates in the system.

Location: Broadmoor, California

My questions are:

  1. If the DUI isn't filed OR charged, why do the police say his license is suspended?

  2. Do we still see a DUI lawyer about all these extra problems?

  3. How come the police database and the court database say two separate things?
