I Bought A Laptop That Has A Large Amount Of Money In Cryptocurrency Stored On It.

Sorry if this seems a little bit rushed I’m trying to keep this short. If you need more detail details I will try to give them to you.

Location: Pennsylvania, USA

I (24m) bought a used laptop at a pawn shop for my wife because she’s interested in starting a small business and would need one to work off of. My dad was helping me clear out everything that was already on it because I’m not very good with electronics and he found software that will hold cryptocurrency (I am intentionally being vague, but it’s a big crypto type). It took us a few days to figure out what we were looking at, but once we figured out how to navigate it we realize that there is a life-changing amount of money just sitting in this account.

My wife is a little psycho and did some snooping on the guy based off of the information that was still on the laptop we found out that he passed in October and that he has one child that lives out of state (New Jersey,USA) according to his obituary. So here’s my question do I have a legal obligation to tell the son about the money that was left on the laptop? The only thing I signed when I bought it was the receipt. The only thing the woman at the store knew was that it turned on, it didn’t have a password and I would need to reset it. My dad and I don’t really know anything about cryptocurrency so if you have some advice on that, we could use it
