I Got A Felony In Ga And Moved To Texas 2 Weeks Later

Card image cap

Location: Georgia/Texas

Hey guys, I don’t know if I am doing this right but I am genuinely lost and need help.
So here is the gist. (Lmk if more details are needed.)

I got a felony in Georgia for damage of property, and a misdemeanor for assault after a big brawl w my ex.

Mind you, the police told me if I had called first after the fight we had, he would’ve been the one to be arrested over me.

Here is the kicker: I had to move to Texas before I was even assigned a court date. My parents sold our house, but the arrest happened 2 weeks before the scheduled move out date.
I would've been homeless w no resources had I not gone with them.
I called the court house and had tried to explain to them that I moved, but they told me I needed to change my address in person due to the felony.

Basically, what I am asking, is this illegal what I'm doing?

Do I need to make a trip to GA to change my address?

Would they arrest me for leaving the state?

I’ve been here a little over a month now, and I'm getting extremely nervous.

My father told me that I need to call them and explain my situation, but everyone else is telling me the opposite. That they’ll file a warrant out here for my arrest, track me down, and take me back to Georgia.

I have (had?) a court appointed attorney, but he never answers his phone. I've called repeatedly, I've left messages, he’s never there, and never gets back to me.

I'd genuinely love any sort of advice here.
Anything that could possibly help me decide what is the best way to move forward right now is greatly appreciated.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading!
