Home Buyer Wants To Store Some Of Their Belongings In The Property 2 Days Before The Settlement
Location: Pennsylvania
We're selling our home and the buyer wants to store some of their belongings in the garage and shed 2 days before the settlement. They claim they're tight in cash and can't afford $160 for a 1 month storage 4 minutes away. I find that hard to believe since they're selling their home for 55k over the amount they're buying ours. They've been a pain throughout the whole process asking for credits, etc and their Real Estate Agent is so slow.
Our Agent said there's a document that we can sign to allow that. However my wife is not really into it. If something happens to their property or if they claim they had something there and later gets lost she thinks we colud be liable. Especially since the shed doesn't have a lock. Honestly I don't like the idea either. I've never seen buyers trying to take possession before the settlement and after some Googling, people said it's not recommended.
What are your legal thoughts about it?
I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance!
