I'm An Online Artist Who Received A Fraudulent Dmca Takedown, What Are My Options?

Location: Seattle, WA, USA

I'm a freelance 2D and 3D artist who posts to various platforms online, and what I do is my livelihood. Today I received a DMCA takedown notice submitted by another user of a platform I upload to, claiming my work is theirs. The platform, which I rely on for my income, has accepted their takedown request and given me the option to submit to them a counter-claim. My goal is to get my content reinstated with minimal personal and financial repercussions.

My main issue submitting a counter-claim directly is I have to file with my legal name and address, which for an anonymous online platform could pose a whole host of issues - specifically "doxxing" or having that information shared maliciously. I've done basic cursory searches and seen information that says my only two ways around this while remaining within the law are to either hire a lawyer to submit on my behalf, or to register as an LLC - a process I'm unfamiliar with.

It's really hard to google help for these, BS sponsored results go on for miles on Google and the websites I find trying to help are random bulletins and not actual people I can contact, I have no clue where to go from here or what my options really are, or if anything I've seen is even true. Internet searches for anything Legal Advice are littered with trash and AI nonsense so I'd really appreciate hearing from real, genuine people what my options are.

Thank you for reading, any help is greatly appreciated!
