I’ve Avoided Two (separate) Court Summons And It’s Been Years.

Location: Louisiana

I’m currently in my mid 20’s and these two isolated incidents have been in the back of my mind for years. I was a stupid, careless guy with mental health issues.

About four years ago I was at fault in a collision (a small dent, nothing scary) and received a court summons from the cop that arrived on scene. I exchanged insurance with the other guy and never showed up to court.

Two years ago I backed into someone’s vehicle at the university I attend and left a dent. I panicked (in fear I’d be arrested because of my failure to appear in court last time) and drove home. However, they caught it all on camera so I got caught. Same story as last time- exchanged information with the guy and didn’t go to court.

All of this to say, I don’t think there’s a warrant out for my arrest because I was pulled over for speeding about a month ago by a sheriff and he ran my license and didn’t say anything, just gave me a ticket.

I’ve pushed this issue aside for so long mainly because I’m in fear of what is going to happen- I don’t know if I’m gonna be arrested. What should I do at this point? Im much more level-headed now thankfully and I’m just trying to figure out how I should approach this without getting an arrest on my record if I can avoid it.
