I Was Assaulted And Then Told I Was Lucky They Didn’t Press Charges.

Location: Hillsboro, OR

I was sucker punched today in Fred Meyer on TV highway in hillsboro.

As I was walking into the store there was a man harassing me. He was yelling about my driving but he wasn’t behind me so I told him as much. By the time I got to the entrance it must have looked like I was harassing him because I had to turn around and actively, in a very loud voice, tell him to fuck off and leave me alone.

This fuckin dude was half my age, about a buck fifty soaking wet and had a 10 year old kid with him. He but his chest against mine and puts his hand on me and I remove it. Then as I turn to leave he clocks me in the back of the jaw. THE BACK of my head.

I’m pissed. I’m screaming and yelling about how he assaulted and the employees tell ME to go outside. After this man punched ME. HE hit me. Then the employees told the police the cameras weren’t recording because Asset Protection wasn’t in even in the facility and that I had been the main aggressor. The police told me I was lucky HE didn’t press charges.

I was assaulted by customer and then trespassed from the location. What the fuck Fred Meyer? Why aren’t your cameras running? Do I have any legal recourse in this situation?
