I Went To My Parked Car And Had A Ticket Under My Windshield Saying I Am Being Fined For Having Expired Tags: I Don’t Have Expired Tags.
Location: Baltimore
My license plate numbers are printed, it’s not a mistake. I called MVA and they told me my plates aren’t expired and I am not flagged for anything.
I called the city (Baltimore), and told them this, and they said in their system I owe money because my tags are expired (I repeated my tag numbers and told them what MVA said).
They told me I have to go to court to fight this. It will cost me $20 in gas and parking fees to do this. It’s almost cheaper to just pay the $35 dollar ticket- which explicitly says that by paying I’m “admitting guilt”.
However, I’m not guilty, and I shouldn’t have to pay money for gas and parking because someone lied about my tags.
This isn’t the first time my city has ripped me off (even though now I live away, I’m originally from the city), and I’m done with these money tricks they play.
I want my gas and parking paid for it I have to go to court for a lie. Is this possible?
