Is It Worth Taking My Landlord To Court?
Location: New Hampshire
Is it worth the trouble taking my landlord to court or will it be a dragged out process? I want to file a RSA 540-A petition. My landlord has violated our right to peaceful enjoyment for all 7 years I’ve signed a lease with them. They cancel work orders or ignore requests and I have to contact City Code inspectors multiple times a year.
Within the last year after sending 24hr Notices of Entry, they are consistently late and show up after the notice expires.
Within the last 3 months they did not send notice for one non-emergency entry in august, charged us for denying entry after they showed up very late in september and now have sent notice with the wrong verbiage to gain entry for next week.
I already submitted a records request to city planning and health and have gotten their records on the issues at hand.
With all this information in hand, I am having trouble organizing it and I dont know what the court will accept. I’m in New Hampshire and I know we dont have the best court system, I just dont know what my next steps should be.
