Just Purchased A New Truck An Traded In My Jeep Wrangler

Card image cap

I recently purchased a 2026 Toyota Tacoma from a Toyota dealership. I traded in my 2020 Jeep Wrangler, we went back and forth with the trade value and the price of the truck and within two days came to an agreement. I obviously let them take the keys to the jeep and do any kind of inspection that needed to be done. They offered $17,100 for the Jeep, we signed all the paperwork, everything was approved financially and I left the dealership with the registration in hand.

Flash forward a few days later and the car salesman is blowing up my phone, stating that after a deeper mechanical inspection they realized that they over paid for the jeep and that they need me to bring the truck back in to look at other options or reverse the sale. All I’ve done so far is make a formal complaint with the customer relations department and plan on calling the corporate office on Monday.

The car salesman has called me 7 times today alone and also has been calling my job multiple times as well. I’m not a mechanic nor did I try to hide or hold back anything, as they inspected the jeep before all the paperwork was signed, but now they’re threatening to not send the deal to the bank? It’s been a horrible experience and just curious if they actually have the ability to come and pick up the truck.

They’ve also had my jeep for the past week.
