Landlady Entered My Appartment And Told Me To Clean

I will make it short. Here's some background ;

I adopted a cat some weeks ago. She is still stressed and sometimes pees on my ceramic floor in the bathroom. Whatever. Happens. Shes nervy but shes getting used to it.

Boyfriend was on a work trip for some weeks. I was home alone and struggling with physical health issues. Was also at school. Appartment is disorganized ( not dirty, its clean, just messy )

Now, yesterday

My boyfriend came back from his trip, we are both sick and struggling. No energy to clean. But, we had to go to Montreal to visit family for Halloween and help our respective families to prepare for winter. Only 2 days. So, we clean a little, pack our bags, and leave for Montréal.

Now today.

Our friend has to go to pir appartment to feed our cat. Mutual agreement. Good. Boyfriend gave him the wrong key, so we call landlady to open our door. She complains. Landlady stuff. Our friend is waiting in the building for 45 minutes. She doesnt come. He gets hungry so he leaves for some breakfast.

She suddenly texts us pictures of our appartment. Telling us to immediately come back home to clean because it was messy. She starts saying we should be ashamed and that we had an agreement. Idk what agreement shes talking about I pay for my mess.

She said it was fine that she entered because our water leak detector was going off because my cat got stressed and peed on the detector on accident. Shes a cat she doesnt understand. Its fine. Things happen.

She says she is dissapointed in us. Looking through our things in our appartment. Asks us where her litter box is. We tell her to leave. She doesnt. Sends videos and pictures.

We panic because we are hours away. Cant leave because we have appointments here. Friend comes back.

Suddenly cat is very violent and hissy. She never acted like this before. My cat is the most cuddly cat ever. Beautiful fluffy and super nice. She adores our friend. But now she hisses at him and cries. We believe she mightve scared our cat or done something to her because she seems hurt.

I have pictures of her messages. Pictures of my cat never acting violent or harsh.

She also said we cant leave our cat alone as per the agreement. The agreement does not state so.

Was this illegal? What can I do?

I understand leaving the cat was a bad decision, but we already had someone on his way to stay home with her while we are gone.

I am baffled. Please help me.
