Landlord’s Ex Wife Is Trying To Get Me Evicted

Location: Indiana

I have been renting a house since November last year. My landlord lives in GA so he’s not around, but things have been smooth sailing until now. On Monday afternoon this woman approaches my brother (we live here together) while he was outside, claiming to be my landlord’s wife. She then tells him that our landlord is getting deported and is currently in jail, and she is taking legal action to give their son the house. I contact my landlord and assuming since he was replying to me he is not in jail. Anyway, he has his actual wife who happened to be in town come talk to us, and she of course tells me that everything the other lady said is a lie, like obviously she wasn’t his actual wife, but his ex wife, she has a drug problem etc.

Fast forward to this morning, she comes pounding on our door, I didn’t answer because I didn’t want to deal with her. I unfortunately felt the need to open the door and confront her when she started walking around the property like a creep. She starts off the conversation basically just telling me what she told my brother, and I just tell her that I know she’s full of it because I’ve been talking to my landlord and his ACTUAL wife. This seemed to piss her off and she just starts waving her phone in my face telling me she can call the county and prove he’s in jail and getting deported. I tell her no thank you, she asks for my brother’s and I’s names and contact info and I’m obviously not giving her that so she left after telling me that she has a lawyer and whatnot.

After this I contact my landlord again and he sends me a picture of a quit claim deed where the ex had signed to forfeit her rights to the property before it was rented out to me.

I’m basically just wondering if I have anything to worry about since I know nothing about what kind of rights anyone involved here has. Thanks in advance
