Las Vegas Finest Perform Illegal Eviction
My housemate, who is not the landlord, decided to try to remove me from my residence by serving me with 3-day notice eviction paperwork. On January 21, 2026, she changed the locks on me and never provided me with a code or key to enter. I got through the garage, she called the police and stated I was a burglar and evicted last week. Long story short, I got detained for over an hour with my two guests and by three policemen. All three cops deemed I was evicted because she filed a 5- day unlawful detainer that would not be served until the next day. Since they deemed I was evicted, all three cops informed me that I had to take my stuff out, or it would be deemed abandoned property. This allowed my housemate be able to have full access to my room and belongings since I wasn’t able to take everything. Police suggested civil standby for the rest of my belongings the next day. What can I do legally?
Landlord:
I lived at this property with the landlord for years, renting a room. I have a lease between myself and the landlord. Nothing wth his lady. He married a crazy lady less than 2 years ago. He is currently going through a divorce. The landlord got kicked out of his own property for missing a temporary restraining order court date he wasn't aware of. Everything went downhill for me when the landlord's ex-wife found out from the cops that I have the same rights as her. I am still legally a tenant, but the cops from this call mentioned above literally evicted me. I requested their body cam footage, which I should be receiving soon.
