Legally Stuck

I apologize in advance, this is a long one.

My 6yr old son is going through a lot of behavioral changes with his schizophrenia disorder on top of the autism and his chromosome disorder. He is usually a very energetic, silly, and very loving child.

He has had some severe behavioral issues in the past (lashing out at others, biting his teacher and myself, attacking his brother) and we decided to see a behavioral specialist again which led us to his schizophrenia diagnosis. We knew about his chromosome disorder since he was 4 months old and he has seen several therapist and specialist to help with his speech, muscle movements, and fine motor skills. At 18 months old he was diagnosed with autism and we started seeing a behavioral specialist. Many others with his chromosome disorder has a high rate of having schizophrenia so I wasn’t entirely shocked when he had gotten diagnosed this past year.

His bio father is in the picture and has custody every other weekend, he has never seen any of the behavioral outbursts from our son and thinks I am over reacting and that the doctors are misdiagnosing him. He was very upset when he started his Abilify and thinks my parenting is the issue. I have had multiple teachers and doctors talk to him and he still isn’t on the same boat for helping our son out medically.

This morning I called his doctor to hopefully get a referral to get more help for my son due to the severity of his outbursts this weekend (he had started punching himself and is trying to constantly beat my pregnant stomach). It absolutely breaks my heart to see him like this, as my son is such a loving child. The doctor has officially considered inpatient medical treatment for my son as he is now putting his own safety at risk. We have absolutely gone outside of this decision every way possible but I would love my son to get the help he needs so we can have our loving little boy back. The doctor did state we would need his father’s signature and I am absolutely terrified he isn’t going to get the help he needs because, his father doesn’t believe any of this. How can I pull him out of this denial of his son needing help? How can I legally get my son the help he needs when the other parent doesn’t believe in it? I am so torn and defeated, I just want my son to be safe and healthy again.
