Maternity Leave At 34 Weeks Pregnant
Recently went to L&D for regular painful contractions. Was there for 7.5 hours but only dilated 1cm. They told me I have an irritable uterus. Been having regular very painful contractions since. Also suffering from dizziness if standing too long. Decided maybe I should take maternity leave a little early as my jobs already given me many accommodations and I don’t feel I can do it anymore. My work goes through a third party for leaves so I contacted them that I would be starting early. They said okay but would need my doctor to fill out paperwork stating my serious medical reason to be out of work. I contacted my doctor and she said I don’t need a doctors note and that it’s up to me to be done working or not. I told her they said they would need one but she says there’s no serious medical reason to pull me from work and it would be a personal reason and up to me. I don’t know what to do because I’m in so much pain and already doing very little at work as it is, I can’t possibly do any less. I’m at a loss. I cant use any more sick time because I’m only allowed 40 hours in a year. Any advice would be very helpful.
