Medical Or Civil Suit?

Card image cap

Location: FL

I am trying to evaluate whether or not to assist my neice. Neice is a medical professional who used a patient's credit to open a medical facililty and business line of credit. Neice agreed to pay the client an amount, she screwed the patient over. She refused to repay their agreed amounts and there is mountains of evidence against her that she was involved with the patient on an inappropriate business level. Patient told her that if she didn't repay, patient would report her to a medical board.

I am beyond humiliated posting, as I wish she would have came to me and either asked me for the investment or to pay the patient what is owed. My family did not raise her to cheat/steal. Given we are past this point, my question is whether or not she can get into serious trouble, what are likely consequences, and is it worth it for me to help her. Like should she have an attorney to defend her medical license or pay the client off (idk how that works or if its an option). I don't understand what we would be looking at punishment wise and if its best to help or if its a lost cause. Thank you.
