Missed Punch Last Week And Worked 5 Hours For Free. Hr Lady Says They’ve Already Processed Pay For That Period And I’m Out Of Luck
Location: Minnesota. Pretty self explanatory. I missed a punch when coming back from lunch and only realized when I went to punch out at the end of the day. At that point anyone who could change it was gone till Monday. Monday I forgot to tell them. I told my boss this morning immediately and she said “ok”. I check my time card punches at the end of the day and it still hasn’t been fixed. So I go directly to the lady who processes our pay checks and she says it’s already been processed and I’m out of luck gives me a dumb look like she’s confused why I haven’t already left. What is the legality of this?
Edit: some clarification, I was told flat out by the HR lady that that time is gone and I wouldn’t be paid for it, despite it being easily provable that I was there and worked. She also told me she doesn’t ever check anyone’s hours, which seems weird since she has the responsibility of verifying them. Also, I don’t really care if it doesn’t show up on this coming pay stub, as long as I get it eventually
