My Barber Is Refusing To Give Me My Hair Extensions Back

Card image cap

Location: Florida

I went to my regular barber shop about three weeks ago for a new haircut and some hair extensions. I provided my own hair for the extensions as I've done several times before at other places. It's high quality human hair that I spent a lot of money on.

After a few days I decided the style wasn't for me. I went back to the shop and asked them to remove the extensions. They removed them but then refused to give my hair back to me. They said once it's installed it's considered their property.

I argued that it's clearly my hair. I bought it I brought it in. It was never theirs to begin with. They just kept repeating their policy. I asked to speak to a manager but they said the manager was out.

I've called them multiple times since then and they're still refusing to return my hair. They keep saying it's their policy not to return extensions once installed. It feels like they're just holding my property hostage.

Is there anything I can do to get my hair extensions back? It was a significant investment and I want them.
