My Boyfriend Filed An Incident Report Against Me And I Don't Know How To Defend Myself

Hello, I apologize if this post is all over the place, as this happened very recently. Last night, my boyfriend- I guess ex now- caused some tension at the party we attended, and I was a little upset with him. When we arrived back at his place, I just wanted to lie down and go to sleep. I was not up for a conversation and repeatedly told him that. He continued to try to get me to talk to him by grabbing me and forcefully turning me, snatching my phone out of my hand, and physically trying to turn me towards him. I repeatedly told him to get off of me and to stop touching me, but he would not listen. When I had my back turned to him, he kept grabbing my arm, and I kept pushing him off me. I guess when I was doing this, I had accidentally elbowed him, but I did not know this until today. After a while, I called my mom to come and get me and started packing my stuff. After I left, I blocked him on everything. He proceeded to call the cops and file a report against me for harassment. An officer called me around 3 am and asked for my version of events. Today, my ex said that he is going to contact my university and said he would do anything to ensure that I get expelled and blacklisted from universities/medical schools. The officer I spoke to said I should not be worried, but this is my future we're talking about. Is there anything I can do to protect myself legally, as there have been no formal charges pressed that I know of, and even a rumor can negatively impact my schooling and future? Location: Georgia, US
