My Boyfriend’s Mom Got An Order Of Protection Against Me And I Was Kicked Out Of My Own Home

So my (now ex)boyfriend's mom has been staying with us as a temporary guest for about six weeks. She is not on the lease, has never paid rent, and the only people on the lease are my boyfriend and me.

She was originally supposed to stay 3 to 4 weeks. It got delayed a couple times and then she left town for a planned trip, and while she was away my boyfriend told me she had signed a lease elsewhere and would be moving in on Friday. I believed she was only returning to our house for two nights after her trip before moving into her new place.

Yesterday, while my boyfriend was at work, she returned to the house. We got into an argument. I was watching TV, and she unplugged it because she wanted to take a work call. I ran over and grabbed the cord back from her. She was pushed backward but was not knocked down or injured. She immediately started recording and said I had assaulted her.

The police responded but did not arrest or cite either of us. They simply told me to stay away from her, which I did. I did not speak to her again.

Today, as I was leaving to run an errand, officers served me with an order of protection that requires me to leave my own home until at least Saturday. They escorted me out and only allowed me about 10 minutes to gather belongings. They told me I could go to the courthouse and request a hearing today, so I immediately went, but I was told the earliest available hearing is in 5 to 10 days.

Ironically, she is scheduled to move into her new place tomorrow, but I still cannot return to my own home until Saturday. I have nowhere to stay and will likely be sleeping in my car.

Is there anything I can do to challenge this sooner or regain access to my home before the hearing? Is this normal procedure in Arizona, even when the protected person is not on the lease and was only a temporary guest? I don’t understand how this is legal.
