Solar Company Goes Out Of Business, Equipment Left On Site

location: Syracuse area NY.
About a year and a half ago I contracted with a solar company to install solar panels on my home property. They installed the ground mounting system and brought the panels to the site to install them, but then never actually installed them.
So I have ~$40,000 dollars of solar panels dropped off last July (2025) on site and have been impatiently waiting for the compaby to come out to finish the installation.
National grid (the power company here in NY) contacted me today saying my solar company went out of business, therefor my "solar application will be withrdrawn".
Heres the kicker... I never actually paid the solar company anything. The contract says 1st payment was due when the finished putting the panels up (which never happened). But the panels are on my land for over a year awaiting installation.
How should I proceed? Do I effectively own these panels now (for free)? Is someone coming to get them since theyre out of business? Is there a time frame where I legally own what's abandoned on my land?
