My Child (12years Old) Was Accidentally Given Thc Cookies At Elementary School By A Teachers Aid.

A teacher’s aid brought marijuana cookies to school that were homemade by her husband unknowingly. My child as well as between nine and 14 other children were given these cookies at recess. The children all became obviously sick and under the influence. The teachers realized what was going on and the principal and when our children asked to call home, they refused to let them call home until school ended.

The school was notified by the husband of the teachers aid what had happened. That was right after school ended, and still there were no calls home so that we could get proper medical attention for our children. We noticed on our own and through our children’s recollection of what had happened that we needed to get them medical attention. Many parents, including myself, took our children to the emergency room to be evaluated. Many of the children, including my own tested positive for THC.

The next morning we went to the school with the reports from the emergency room with the positive test and only then did they call law-enforcement and take any sort of action for this event.

I as well as other parents are unsure about what type of lawyer or attorney we need to seek out to represent us for this unfortunate situation.

It is a law and rule at the school that nobody can bring any unpackaged food to the school. Including cupcakes, for birthdays, cannot be homemade. Everything needs to be packaged. This teacher brought homemade cookies and shared them with the students. This, along with the fact that the school became aware of what had transpired and failed to notify parents and even made multiple attempts to cover up the situation.
