My Dog Got Into A Fight With An Unleashed Dog. My Dof Slipped His Leash After The Fight Started. Who Is Responsible? Ferguson Mo
Location: Ferguson, Missouri. Hello all. Thanks in advance on any advice/opinions. I was walking my dog and an unleashed dog started barking and ran at us. Theirnowner was nowhere to be seen until I started yelling and the fightnhad started. I tried to get away but we were super close to said dog as it was close to a corner we had just rounded. After the fight started my dog slipped put of his leash, but I was still able to pull him off after a few seconds. My dog was on leash until he slipped out after the other dog was already on top of us. My dog pinned the other dog but they didnt seem to have any bites. Context, my dog is A LOT bigger than this dog. Both dogs seem fine, the other owner said their dog is fine. My dog has no history of being aggressive
The other dog is regularly kept in a kennel outside and I have seem it loose several times and it isnt even always right by their apartment, ive seen it on the opposite side of the complex as well. Said dog has charged us before but when that instance occurred I saw it far enough away to run before anything happened. Point being this dog is regularly loose without supervision. They havent called the police or anything, but I want to be aware of what the situation possibly could be if they do or go to apartment management. Who is responsible?
