My Employer Changed My Clocked Out Time
Location: Michigan, US.
Last Sunday a situation happened at work (restaurant)
My original shift finish at: 4 PM
My assistant manager asked me to stay longer, to finish at: 6 PM, he said will drop me off as there is no buses for me to go home.
He was late to arrive from his break, I messaged him at 6:00 saying if he is coming, he replied he is on his way.
I kept working till he came, unfortunately I don't remember when exactly he came, but I believe around 6:30PM. I clocked out and we left. -I don't remember when I clocked out exactly too-.
Yesterday, I got a notification on Legion app, that my clock-out time was edited to 6 PM.
His note to the edit was: 'associate forgot to clock out'.
I didn't forget, I just kept working till he comes, that what I understood at least from his words. Beside my co-workers didn't open any drawer so I can close my drawer and clock out. We do have cameras in the restaurant.
Will I just get unpaid for the time I worked? Is this even legal?
